
Scope of Work
A department within the Medical Division of PAMAS whose purpose is to help improve and maintain the health of PAMAS missionaries and their families as well as the communities they serve. Especially devoted to providing health assessments in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. This department is responsible for planning and carrying out all community health related activities under the direction of the medical head.
Qualification Standard
- Preferred Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Experience working in a hospital, clinic, or community health setting (preferred).
- Experience working in a resource-limited setting or with underserved populations (preferred).
- Strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality nursing care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in word processing and basic computer applications is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A heart for service, a passion for missions, and a commitment to Christian values.
- Active in evangelism and willing to move forward beyond boundaries.
- Committed and dedicated to do full time missionary work.
- Baptized and active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizes neighborhood medical missionary visitation work around PAMAS.
- Promotes PAMAS missionary involvement in neighborhood/personal work.
- Works with the Medical Department Head to build rapport and partnership with the local Barangay health units/etc.
- Leads out in prayer walks.
- Develops a system for tracking and follow up of community patients.
- Performs Quarterly optional health checks for PAMAS missionary kids (plotting on growth chart, checking for malnutrition, evaluating dental health etc.).
- Coordinates weekly PAMAS health clinic where PAMAS missionaries or workers can come for check of vital signs or simple health advice. Collaborates with the Medical Department Head and refers to the hospital or health office as appropriate.
- Works with the Medical Department Head and Evangelism team to plan programs and events for meeting the community felt-needs through medical missions, health education, outreach events, care groups, small groups, etc.
- Promotes health awareness and healthy lifestyle practices for the PAMAS missionaries and the surrounding community.
- Facilitates direction of health team assistants to community members in need of visitation.
- Submits a brief monthly report of activities.
- Assists community members with administering natural remedies, medications, wound care, and vital sign monitoring under the direction of the Medical Department Head.
- Provides manpower support to other Divisions and Departments.
- Regularly attends Team Worships and United Prayers.
- Performs other related functions.
- Regularly re-stock PAMAS medical kit.
- Helps to inventory Medical supplies in collaboration with the Medical Aviation and lifestyle department.
- Helps to make PAMAS medical kits for PAMAS missionaries working in remote areas and facilitate restocking of these kits when necessary.
