March 2-15, 2025 marked the second FARM STEW missionary training in the Philippines, held in collaboration with PAMAS and SULADS. The FARM STEW training highlights topics relevant to unreached communities, educating them on farming, nutrition, sanitation, entrepreneurship, and more. Also, the organization empowers families to fight against poverty, hunger, and disease—leading causes of death in children under five years old.

Being one of the students in the FARM STEW training made a significant impact on how I perceive ministry. Each topic contained relevant Biblical Truth. The enemy may come to steal our joy, yet Jesus comes to give us life in abundance (John 10:10). As stewards of this light, we have the responsibility to share the good news with others. That there is hope in Jesus, that there is life abundant in Him.

Particularly, this is the second batch of the FARM STEW Training of Trainers in the Philippines. There were twelve trainers in total, certified from the previous FARM STEW trainings in Bukidnon and Palawan plus health and agriculture professionals from Bukidnon and abroad. Moreover, God brought 33 missionaries from different parts of the country and around the world. Particularly, from Canada, Finland and Australia. Within two weeks, trainers taught through immersive learning using non-formal education methods, ensuring that each student actively participated in and learned from every activity. Each method was designed to make it relatable for the people in poor communities. We made sure to integrate their ways of living, lifestyle, culture and customs in educating them.

From Christ’s methods of labor we may learn many valuable lessons. He did not follow merely one method; in various ways He sought to gain the attention of the multitude; and then He proclaimed to them the truths of the gospel.”

Indeed, God has a purpose for bringing FARM STEW to the Philippines. FARM STEW training serves as an opening wedge for the gospel to enter unreached areas. It not only brings hope to these villages but also gives purpose to the missionaries in deployment. This mission is for our salvation and for His glory. I can’t wait to hear about the transformed lives, the souls who would get to know the Savior and the miracles that God would do through this ministry.
