Our Airbases

PAMAS provides air support to remote islands or isolated coastal or mountainous areas that have limited access to roads and medical care.

PAMAS currently has 7 volunteer pilots who operate 7 aircraft, including an R66 helicopter and five airplanes. These include a Cessna 172, a 180, two 182’s, a 206, and a Piper Twin Comanche. More than 1500 flight hours are logged by volunteer pilots each year, with 80% of the flights being medical evacuation cases.

We currently have 4 areas of the Philippines we cover with a goal to continue to expand.

PAMAS stands out for it’s commitment to provide services to everyone regardless of their financial, religious, or social standing.

North Luzon Base

Plane and Hangar in North Luzon

Established in 2012, the North Luzon Airbase is located in Banuar, Cabarroguis, Quirino. The site was strategically chosen for its central location in the Cagayan Valley, providing equal access to the mountain ranges of North Luzon. PAMAS Missionary Training (PMT) was established at this base to train and equip students with practical skills, preparing them to be a light in the dark, underserved villages of northern Luzon. The training has a strong focus on agriculture, character development, and spiritual growth, while also covering basic construction and medical skills. The base spans 5 hectares and features a 700-meter airstrip. The facility is equipped with one fixed-wing aircraft, operated by a skilled pilot and supported by a dedicated team of 19 volunteers.

South Luzon Base

Founded in 2022, the South Luzon airbase is the newest PAMAS base and is located in Tuy, Batangas. The hangar space is rented and includes the use of a 700-meter airstrip. The base is strategically positioned to reach isolated communities on the islands off South Luzon and surrounding regions. Equipped with a single-engine fixed-wing aircraft, the airbase is currently operated by a skilled pilot, supported by two dedicated volunteers.

Palawan Base

Founded in 2009, the Palawan base was the first to be established. Located in Malulunan, Barong Barong, Brooke’s Point, it continues to expand its services for mountainous Indigenous and remote island communities. The base operates on an 11-hectare land area, which includes a 750-meter airstrip. This strategic location was chosen for its proximity to critical mountain projects, including schools and clinics, ensuring efficient access to remote areas. The base operates a fleet of two fixed-wing aircraft and one R66 helicopter. The aviation team consists of three skilled pilots—two specializing in fixed-wing operations and one certified for both fixed-wing and helicopter flights. The Palawan base also supports the community with five mountain literacy schools, a lifestyle center, a dental facility, and a radio station. Its mission is sustained by 60 dedicated volunteers.

Mindanao Base

In 2016, PAMAS refurbished and expanded the old Mountain View College airstrip in Mt. Nebo, Valencia City, Mindanao, establishing its third airbase. The base spans 5 hectares and includes a 900-meter airstrip. Centrally located, it is strategically positioned to serve the mountainous regions of Mindanao, particularly to enhance logistical support for SULADS, which trains and dispatches hundreds of teachers each year to remote mission schools throughout Mindanao and beyond. The FARM STEW program  also began at this base. Operating both a fixed-wing aircraft and a helicopter, the base is staffed by a dedicated team, including one fixed-wing pilot, two helicopter pilots, and 27 volunteers.
