When we first met “Ate” (older sister) Rachelle, a 28-year-old with special needs, we quickly realized that despite her challenges, God had placed a unique light in her. Living in a home surrounded by spiritist rituals, she often copied the symbols and practices she saw, but we knew God had something greater for her. Each time we visited, armed with Sabbath school crafts and Bible stories, we saw how the Holy Spirit was at work, gently guiding her heart toward His truth.

Through simple acts like coloring and crafting, God spoke to Ate Rachelle. The drawings she created, now filled with Bible themes and verses, became evidence that even in a challenging environment, God’s love could break through. Watching her joy as she engaged with the stories of Jesus reminded us that no one was beyond His reach. Her enthusiasm and growing understanding proved that God could use anyone—even those with special needs—to be part of His mission.

This experience reminded us that discipling others is everyone’s calling. It isn’t limited to the strong or the learned; even those with the mind of a child, like Ate Rachelle, can be transformed and used by God. We are all instruments in His hands, and our mission to share Christ’s love includes reaching out to those who might otherwise be overlooked. Just as God is using us to reach Ate Rachelle, He is also using her to show us that no one is too small or too limited to be part of His Kingdom work.
